"A compact space including an 84” height ceiling and the need to capture an existing elevator and powder room were significant design challenges. Exacting tolerances and the thoughtful specification of hardware, materials, finishes and equipment allowed the complete integration of all elements. Function, visual aesthetics and efficient use of every precious inch was taken into account in all aspects of this expression of modernity.
By selecting the 36” Sub-Zero refrigerator was paramount in solving the space planning challenge which allowed for the incorporation of the breakfast pantry, video equipment and storage that encapsulates the elevator and powder room. Incorporating sophisticated hardware and cladding it with stunning Macassar ebony panels provided the beauty and dynamics.
White cabinetry melds seamlessly into the perimeter and provides ample storage. The Wolf downdraft in the shallow depth cabinetry made the venting inconspicuous. The radius allows for desired clearances and provides the transition to increased depth cabinetry which also serves as a dining buffet. Concealed below is a pair of Wolf ovens with specially designed pocketing doors.
A full complement of Sub-Zero undercounter refrigeration appliances are integrated into the superbly crafted stamped stainless steel island. The exquisitely finished translucent agate table anchored in the island and resting on a single acrylic leg floats over eight chairs, enhancing the dining experience."
